Each year over 300 billion single-use cups are manufactured globally. Due to their plastic content, 99% will never be recycled. Most will end up in landfills, or worse still, in our waterways and oceans.

In 2014 David and Ali McLagan were determined to help find a solution to this dire problem. They wanted the solution to be affordable, beautiful, and accessible for everyone to Choose to Re-use every day.

They worked closely with University students from China who were upcycling bamboo chopstick generation waste to create Ecoffee Cup. While the product continues to improve, Ecoffee Cup still uses over 70% of upcycled materials with closed-loop recycling.
