Moisturizing Facial Fluid is created using an expert technique by the LIGNE ST BARTH laboratory. The laboratory has mastered the art of producing an emulsion without the use of conventional emulsifiers and synthetic preservatives, by using fatty acids, ceramides and plant-derived phospholipids. The physical and chemical process reproduces the membrane structure of the skins natural barrier. This type of emulsion intrinsically encourages the absorption of the benefits of the ingredients and is better tolerated, particularly by dehydrated and fragile skin. The shea butter, glycerine and plant-derived squalane contained within the formula reinforce the nourishing, moisturizing and protective properties of the mango butter and coconut oil. Shea is also reputed to be regenerative and softening.
Benefits:
MANGO:
The mango tree (Mangifera indica L.) is an evergreen native to India and Burma. It is widely cultivated in the Caribbean for its fleshy fruit that is rich in vitamin C and has a sweet, aromatic flavour. The mango was introduced into the West Indies in the 18th century to provide food for the colonists and slaves, and is now grown in many private gardens. Mangos are one of the most commonly eaten fruits in the Caribbean islands. The very juicy flesh surrounds a flat, smooth stone, in the middle of which is a large almond that contains a creamy, yellowy fat known as mango butter. This precious oily substance, obtained by cold-pressing the stone, boasts emollient virtues. Extremely rich in fatty acids (including isostearic and oleic acids), and containing unsaponifiables (phytosterols, oleic alcohol, squalene and polyphenols), it creates an excellent protective barrier for the skin and helps regenerate the epidermis.
COCONUT:
The coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) is the trademark of tropical island coasts. The palm has an exceptionally long life and has played a traditional role in the beauty of Caribbean women. The fruit of this tree the coconut can be eaten fresh, dried, shaved, dessicated and as cream of coconut throughout the whole year. Coconut oil, obtained by pressing the dried flesh of the coconut, is used in cosmetics to nourish, soften and protect both skin and hair. Rich in fatty acids (including lauric and myristic acids) and vitamins A and E, it provides intensive nourishment for particularly dry, rough, damaged or inelastic skin.
