A mild exfoliant with natural substances, designed specifically for delicate facial skin. Papaya contains enzymes and is traditionally used as an exfoliant in the tropics. The round pearls of jojoba wax gently remove superficial roughness. Use once or twice a week: apply using circular motions and enjoy the fruity fragrance before rinsing off with plenty of water.

The papaya tree (Carica papaya L.), which is widely cultivated in the Caribbean, is an evergreen shrub whose leaves are grouped together at the top, resembling a palm. Its fruit the papaya is rich in vitamin C and provitamin A, as well as vitamins E, B1, B2, B5, B9, potassium, calcium and magnesium.
The many ways in which the papaya is used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries are linked to its papain content. Papain is an important proteolytic enzyme renowned for its effect on dead skin cells, promoting skin renewal and improving the texture of the skin. The Caribbean Indians used papaya as a meat tenderiser, and it is still used as such to this day in the West Indies. A decoction of papaya tree leaves was traditionally prescribed to aid digestion.
The latex in the plant has also been used for centuries due to its therapeutic properties. It is applied to irritated skin and wounds to disinfect them, soften the tissue and encourage regeneration of the cells.
