Bowmakers Eau de Parfum
SKU: 25237
Amongst the transcendental woods of the 1800s, craftsmen from the Massachusetts Bay Colony built violins & bows in the tiny towns of the Pioneer Valley. The shops were riddled with old growth mahogany, burled maple shavings, amber pine rosin, aged walnut & their unique secret varnishes.
Why we're addicted: A tribute to American folk music with a woody and sweet medley.
Violin Varnish, Mahogany, Outdoors Accord, Amber Pine Resin, Maplewood, Cypress, Spiced Tree Resin, Cedar, Moss.
American Colonial Music:
"Gradually there emerged a characteristically American idiom, with elements of folk music and harmonic vitality not found in the English music. Traits of style in this strong and highly original American music include irregular phrase-lengths, natural minor (Aeolian) and gapped scales, and virile rhythms."
- Ida Tobias
Scent Story:
"Bowmakers realls the opening of a violin case–it is a woody scent.
There is the warm shellac of rosin and the luxuriance of mahogany and burled maple. The cold snap of birch in the whistling winter wind floats above the heart. The forest floor, slightly damp and blackened, pads out the bass (ha!) of the fragrance. Some will view it as masculine. It is rich and forward, but could be worn by anyone."
